With a title like this, you already know Darwin’s Super-Pooping Worm Spectacular is going to be an entertaining read, and it does not disappoint. With its mix of fun facts and engaging illustrations, this non-fiction picture book is sure to be a hit with nature lovers, and, let’s face it, poop is a pretty popular topic too – but did you know it was a superpower?
Darwin knew there was more to worms than meets the eye – even if they had none of their own. With the help of cute little pop-up earthworms, author Polly Owen shows us how Darwin’s passion, patience, curiosity and determination helped him demonstrate how spectacular the lowly earthworm really is. As well as learning about how these tiny creatures play such an important (although poopy) role in feeding the plants of the world, this is also a story about never giving up, even when others ridicule your beliefs and efforts.
