And Red Galoshes

And Red Galoshes

A rainy day, a brother and his sister, a pair of red galoshes and a wonderful imagination.

And Red Galoshes from Glenda Millard, is all about the fun you can have on a rainy day.

Warm and whimsical, Millard’s enchanting narrative takes us on a journey. The galoshes play an integral part in the childrens’ wonderfully adventurous wet and windy day. Thankfully the galoshes end up back on Grandma’s feet for a short time and complete the day tucked under the ‘warm feather bed’ containing ‘two sleepy heads.’

With just a single sentence on most pages, this one is a joy to read to younger listeners. Each one ends with the book’s title, creating an enticing poetic flow as it is read out loud.

The two little characters who play together are just adorable – Jonathan Bentley’s illustrations add a touch of magic and charm which is hard to resist.

And Red Galoshes is the ideal book to delve into during Autumn and Winter.
