The Twelve by Liz Hyder with illustrations by Tom de Freston

,

A fabulous YA novel which will enthral readers of all ages.

When Kit’s younger sister Libby goes missing her world crashes down as she tries to find her. When her mum appears to have no recollection of Libby, Kit reels at the thought and is determined to find out what happened to her entranced sister during the solstice and the eery full moon.
When she meets Story, who thankfully remembers Libby too, they embark on a perilous journey spanning not only different timelines of the past but a walk through Kit’s ancestral history too. This comes with a huge risk to their future life the longer they stay in the past. All is not what it seems in Kit’s world and she has to decide who to trust if she’s to find her sister and see her mum again.
The Twelve are there to protect the human race but when the Watcher has other plans for Kit and Story, they are running out of time and must return to present day to ensure their very existence.
A fantastic delve into time and its many faces, The Twelve by Liz Hyder incorporates a fascinating glimpse into those who came before with a contemporary nod to family life, bullies and the acceptance of others. With incredible illustrations by Tom de Freston, this is a fabulous YA novel which will enthral readers of all ages.
