The Coat

the coatThe Coat is a picture book that takes its reader on an unexpected journey, a delightful one.

Julie Hunt pens the enchanting story of a coat which stands alone in the middle of the paddock, “it was angry” for guarding a patch of strawberries really was “an incredible waste!”

When a “disappointed” man notices the coat his decision to wear it leads to a magical transformation as an unusual partnership begins to flourish.

Ron Brooks’ hypnotising illustrations, specifically the emergence of vibrant colours from sepia tones, add to the magical tone of Julie Hunt’s lyrical text.

The Coat has many layers and will easily survive many readings!
