WANTED: Ralfy Rabbit, Book Burglar

ralfyrabbit

I adore a picture book with a great bookerly theme. Ralfy Rabbit is an adorable new character, whose antics made us all giggle.

Wanted! Ralfy Rabbit, Book Burglar is the debut picture book from UK illustrator Emily Mackenzie.

Ralfy isn’t your average rabbit. Yep, he loves books. He has lists & lists of books … ones he wants to read, his favourite books, recommendations for friends (*cough* nothing wrong with that!!)

‘Ralfy loved to learn new words

He loved the smell of books

and the sound of the pages flicking’

The funny twist in this story is that Ralfy loves his books so much that he sneaks into other peoples houses to satisfy his desire for more great stories and then, urm, takes them home with him!!

Arthur is the canny young boy who cottons on to this, but it is a naive policeman who giggles at Arthur’s crime report.

Arthur, Ralfy and indeed the policeman are the fab characters MacKenzie populates her highly enjoyable picture book with. Her vibrant illustrations, interspersed with lively typography add energy and giggles to her narrative.

I adore the twist at the end … as will ALL book lovers.

A lovely blend of giggles, charm and book adoration, Wanted! Ralfy Rabbit, Book Burglar is the perfect picture book for book lovers.

As an extra bonus, download a fab activity pack for Wanted! Ralfy Rabbit, Book Burglar from Bloomsbury (PDF.)
