Mabel and the Flower Spell by Dawn Treacher

It’s nearly time for the village show and Mabel, the witch, is considering growing flowers this year, rather than vegetables.

Mabel loves gardening rather than spells so she sets to work preparing her pots and filling them with seeds.

When her flowers don’t grow she decides to create a spell to help them along the way but it doesn’t go to plan. With time running out, she asks her next door neighbour, Greta, for some spell-help. Ingredients are brought together, with a little addition Mabel isn’t aware of, but the end result is not what Mabel was hoping for! Will she make it to the show on time? Will her flowers bloom and win the prize?

Writer and illustrator, Dawn Treacher, has created a lovely picture book story of honesty, friendship and knowing when to take a step back from unkindness.

Mabel and the Flower Spell is a true testament to being yourself and knowing the difference between right and wrong, with a little bit of gardening love along the way.
