The British Museum and Nosy Crow have formed quite the partnership.

We fell head over heals in love with their Origami, Poems and Pictures book, and it seems their partnership is going from strength to strength with the addition of The Colouring Book of Cards and Envelopes: Fabulous Flowers and Perfect Patterns.

The mad colouring trend has passed me by a little, although I must admit to being tempted by this collection. I like a purpose to activities I think, and herein this book – we’ve got it. Perfect. This is a great way to send more personal birthday cards, because they mean SO much more when a bit of effort has gone into them, don’t you think?

Each page either features 2 beautifully thick cards for colouring, easy tear perforations and an adorable section on the back labelled ‘coloured in by…’ Then flick to the second half of the book and find the most wonderful envelope designs for you to personalise too.

Each exquisite design has been created by Rachel Cloyne, they are wonderfully innovative taking inspiration from patterns, pictures and objects found in the British Museum.  The inside cover of the book features a pic of every single object that inspired each of Cloyne’s designs – I love this touch, interweaving a great bit of history. And if you’re feeling adventurous you can go off to find the objects in the museum, failing that… have a nosy through their website.

…and it that wasn’t enough there’s a glorious page of full colour stickers nestled in the back. Personalised envelopes, cards and now stickers… it’s time to embrace snail mail!
