Don’t Worry, Little Crab by Chris Haughton

Anyone – adult or child – would be drawn to pick up a distinctive Chris Haughton book. I’m a big fan of the graphic illustrations in bold colours but, as with his previous titles like Shh! We Have a Plan or Oh no, George! the story in Don’t Worry, Little Crab is engaging too.

Little Crab is anxious about going in the sea. Luckily, he’s got Very Big Crab with him who is very wise and very reassuring. An extremely relatable theme about finding a little courage to try something new and reap the rewards.

Don’t Worry, Little Crab is a great read-aloud book with lines that toddlers can join in with – they’ll love all the whooshing. And, of course, crabs do go ‘tic-a-tic, tic-a-tic over the rocks.’

What can I say? I love Chris Haughton’s books. Off to arrange this one artistically on the coffee table.
