Victoria Stitch: Bad and Glittering

Victoria Stitch: Bad and Glittering is the start of a fabulous new series from the talented Harriet Muncaster (Isadora Moon).

I adored the world Harriet has created here, the world in which twins, Victoria Stitch and Celestine are trying to find their place in the magical land known as Wiskling Wood.

The problem is, the twins were denied their royal birth-right. Celestine has come to terms with this, no problems. But Victoria Stitch? Not happy. Not happy at all. She knows where she SHOULD be, and can’t see why she should settle for anything less than her rightful place in the palace.

I love how the tension between the sisters plays out, they both live together and struggle with the others’ attitude… they are both SO different. Muncaster captures the sibling relationship, with its tension and up & downs, brilliantly.

When Victoria Stitch gets a whiff of a chance to correct how she has been wronged, she leaps at it. But. Does she really understand the type of magic she is getting herself caught up in?

The plot is filled with great twists and turns as Victoria Stitch becomes more and more determined, and Celestine becomes more and more concerned.

I adored the amazingly world building here, rich with detail and magic. Filled with gothic vibes and a fabulous sprinkling of glitter, this is a series quite unlike any other. I ADORED it. A stunning start to a magical new series.
