I Want My Hat Back

I Want My Hat Back

My Book Corner loves when a respected artist, well established in his or her field, turns their hand to children’s picture books. To us that’s the perfect endorsement of how important children’s books are.

I Want My Hat Back from Jon Klassen a simple story, told entirely in dialogue. Bear has lost his hat and talks to various animals asking them if they have seen it.

There are a couple of clever little twists weaved in to the story – these twists will get a discussion going with your little audience and will encourage them, on their level, to be able to start to predict and infer from the text. Literacy skills? Check! In addition, these twists will also have you grinning at the end!

The repetition of key lines, and the setting of the text on a clear background, mean My Book Corner thinks this will also be a great one for new readers. Take a peek at the trailer below.
