What a glorious rhyming board book from the team of Phil Allcock and Gina Maldonado. Animal Magic is full of animal fun with an amusing rhyme about a different animal on each double page spread.
The turn of each page leads to the introduction to a new animal. Each animal is on a journey,
‘I saw a funny hedgehog
who walked across a road.’
Each four lined stanza ends with the words, ‘turned into a …’ cue a page turn, to reveal what animal it has become, which is definitely where the giggles happen. The clue is in the rhyme!!
Allcock’s rhythm is faultless, with fabulous vocabulary. Brilliantly vibrant illustrations from Maldonado ensure the focus for each spread is squarely on the featured animal.
Magic Animals is a gorgeous book to share with little ones, great fun to read out loud.
