Ant Party by Ross Montgomery, Illustrated by Sarah Warburton

It’s Andy the ant’s birthday and he decides to have a party with dancing and dips!

The only problem is, his house is quite small but that’s alright, he will only invite the neighbours.

Which is fine, until the neighbours invite the farmer ants, who invite the worker ants, who invite …

This is not the party Andy imagined and he is not happy, especially when an anteater arrives.

With a very different version of dancing and dips, Andy leads the ants in dealing with their visitor in a very unexpected manner, leaving them all free to party once more!

And this time, Andy discovered, this was the best birthday party ever!

Teamwork, friendship, laughter and music are all packed into this fun-filled picture book.

I am sure this book will appeal to everyone with its light-hearted approach and so much to see on each page!

I love the humour in this story, portrayed by the bright and cheerful illustrations by Sarah Warburton.

Ross Montgomery is the winner of the Waterstones Children’s Book of the Year 2024.

Thank you to Walker Books for the review copy.
