Bear by Natalia Shaloshvili

Bear is very happy sitting on the bench, minding his own business.

Until along comes Fox, Wolf, Rabbit and Elephant. Unfortunately they all want something from bear and although it isn’t easy for him, Bear shares his belongings until … he has nothing left.

How does this make Bear feel?

Well, a bear can make a very loud noise when he wants to and it is certainly enough to scare off all the other animals!

Except Duck. Who has a cookie. Will Duck share his cookie with Bear?

A sensitive story about sharing told with great humour.

This would be a super  story to read when discussing friendship and what is fair to ask of our friends. Also how difficult it can be for everyone to share something special to them and the emotions and feelings that can occur when asked to do so.

I loved the illustrations, the faces of the animals, particularly Bear, are so expressive.

Thank you to Frances Lincoln Children’s Books for the review copy.
