Charlotte Lance

Charlotte Lance claims to be ‘the mother of two boys who refuse to change out of their super hero costumes’, and I just LOVE that!!

In her ‘spare’ time she has written a gorgeous new picture book entitled A Really Super Hero.

Absolutely delighted that she has stopped by at My Book Corner to answer our questions ….

Tell us about you in 25 words or less.

Life is quiet these days, I have two little boys, Leo and Isaac, and when I’m not with them I’m drawing and writing.

What makes you happy?

Leo and Isaac, drawing and writing. So I’m about as lucky as you can be.

Where have you always wanted to visit, but haven’t made it to … yet?

Paris. Actually I have been – to the train station on my way to Barcelona as a young and hungry backpacker. I remember only the awesome tiles and the smell of wee. The reason I want to go (outside the train station) is that I imagine it looks like a real-life storybook. I’ll find out soon enough because I’m going in July and I can’t wait.

Where is your favourite place to write?

Um, I don’t know. Anywhere I can get some quiet and some hot coffee.

If you could change one thing in the world, what would it be?

Less agro, generally.

What’s the best thing about being a published author?

That I can justify spending lots of much time making up stories and drawing absurd pictures.

What’s the strangest question you’ve ever been asked?

Are you Tina Arena? NO.

Who or what inspires you?

Mum and Roald Dahl.

What is your worst habit?

Unnecessary talking (says husband). I do like to talk….

Your favourite word(s) and why?

Oh, that’s hard. Words like ‘berserk.’ Because when you say them you can see them.

Who is your favourite super hero?

Superman. Because of his colour combo of course, but also because Christopher Reeves as superman is about the best thing I’ve ever seen. And I’ve seen it a lot because Leo has a great obsession with the 1979 version. Good taste Leo.

Did we forget anything?

My next book, “I Have a Dog. An Inconvenient Dog” is coming out soon!

Just for fun

Tea or coffee?

Definitely coffee.

Paper books or e-books?

Paper books

Vegemite or Marmite?

Vegemite

Write or type?

Both

Poetry or prose?

Um, poetry I think.

Beach or bush?

Beach for sure.

Hot or cold?

Cold.
