Cliff: The Man with a Seagull on his Head by Gareth Hopkins, Illustrated by Alex Latimer

PUBLICATION DAY REVIEW!

Luckily for Cliff, a seagull lands on his head and decides to stay there! Delighted to have company, Cliff is surprised when the townspeople are not happy about him encouraging the seagull.

Soon Cliff and his seagull feel so unwelcome, they stop going to town. As their supplies begin to run out, the seagull decides Cliff would be happier on his own and flies away.

Poor Cliff feels lonelier than ever and sets off in his boat, determined to find his seagull. When a storm hits, there’s only way he can be rescued, but will the townspeople learn to trust the seagull?

A heartwarming story of friendship and a great way to encourage a love of all birds, even ones who have a reputation for pilfering chips and ice cream!

The illustrations by Alex Latimer are clear, bright and filled with all of the humour and the darkness of this seaside story.
