For 2017 I would have to say Leaf by Sandra Dieckmann has to be one of my favourites.
Flying Eye produces such quality picture books and Leaf is a story that will still be relevant in many years to come.
The illustrations are beautiful and the story carries several important messages about seeking refuge, welcoming individuals who are different to ourselves and climate change.

Emily Ann Davison is a mother by day and a children’s writer by night. Having spent many years working with children, she discovered a love of picture books and began writing her own.
Emily is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI). She is an active member of a picture book critique group and a middle grade one.
