Fantastically Great Women Who Made HistoryFollowing on from Kate Pankhurst’s best selling Fantastically Great Women Who Changed the World, is Fantastically Great Women Who Made History.

You might recognise Kate Pankhurst’s surname, she is a descendant of the famous suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst, and with this book, she has produced another inspiring non-fiction title, celebrating the achievements of women.

Fantastically Great Women Who Made History looks at fantastically amazing and great women throughout history, who have ‘helped to shape the way we live today’. Each spread is dedicated to an amazing woman, which allows you to dip in and out of the book or look at it as a whole.

The pages are busy and fact-filled, and cleverly laid out. You can travel with Harriet Tubman along the Underground Railroad, following the tracks to freedom. You can follow the first woman’s journey into space – Valentina Tereshkova. You will inspired reading about and learning about these and many other extraordinary women.

The book is full of bright and vibrant illustrations. My ‘nearly’ 4 year old daughter, is fascinated with the illustrations and loves looking at all the details and asking questions about them. When reading this with her, we pick one or two women and read about them. That is what makes this book great – you can keep going back to it, and each time you come away learning something new.

Kate Pankhurst’s Fantastically Great Women Who Made History is perfect non-fiction for all ages (not just children, adults too!).
