Goodnight Moon

Goodnight MoonA must for My Book Corner, Goodnight Moon written by Margaret Wise Brown is a classic, gentle bedtime story for the very young – perfect for establishing that bedtime routine and ideal for those who are just beginning to speak their first words.

A softly rhyming story which begins in the “great green room” with a little rabbit tucked up in bed ready for sleep. With a quiet old lady whispering ‘hush’ he begins to say goodnight to everything in the room and beyond,

“good night kittens

And goodnight mittens”

The clear illustrations are perfect for little ones; clear and uncluttered. My Book Corner’s favourite page is the final one, a dusky room is pictured with the rabbit fast asleep, accompanied by the closing words;

“Goodnight noises everywhere”

Perfect. Gentle. Calm.
