When Milly discovers a pride flag in her Grandad’s attic, he tells her about all the amazing adventures he had with his beloved Gramps. All the parties, marches, dancing and songs they sang filled their lives with love and laughter. Acceptance, inclusion and friendship at the heart of their relationship.
Milly has an idea to hold a pride parade in their village and along with Grandad and all their family and friends, they remember those no longer alive, rejoicing in happy memories and celebrating the incredible communities that fill her and everyone around, with joy and hope.
Harry Woodgate is an incredible writer and illustrator. Grandad’s Pride is such a joy to read. A beautiful collaboration of words and art, depicting families of all different kinds. ‘Together we can build a world where everyone is proud to be themselves’.
