Grizzly Ben by Alan Dapré & Alex Ayliffe

Ben LOVES grizzly bears so much he asked for a REAL one for his birthday.
He didn’t receive a real bear but a Cuddly Bear who asks for a hug when you squeeze him. Ben is not impressed and becomes ever so slightly annoyed.
He decides to show Cuddly Bear how to be a proper grizzly bear but nothing seems to work. An incident with some honey and a huge splashy stramash in the bathroom were not what Ben had in mind.
Ben becomes exceedingly cross. The more cross he is, the more grizzly his mood. So much so, he begins to change. A little at a time…
He sprouts bear ears, followed by a bear nose and paws until he is exactly the same as a grizzly bear! Fed up with Cuddly Bear he storms off into the woods. Can he calm down enough to find his way home? Will he ever become friends with Cuddly Bear? Will his mood change?
Alan Dapré has written a much-needed story of dealing with high emotions and learning to cope in situations outwith your control. Alex Ayliffe’s colourful illustrations bring Ben to life as he works through the bear issues he’s having. A fun and heart-warming story for all the grizzly bears in our lives, may they find their Cuddly Bear just when they need it.
