Grumpfort by Jamie Hammond

Mo (full name Monday the 16th) is about to take on his biggest ever challenge!

How can he be the one to protect his village when he is terrified of monsters?

After failing on his very first day, Mo comes up with a radical plan. He will enter the forbidden forest, catch a monster and prove to everyone how brave he is.

Except, things don’t go exactly to plan when he is captured by a group of monsters and their leader, Fry.

Ordered by Fry to capture the Grumpsnatcher, ‘the biggest beast that ever lived’, Mo must set off on a hair raising adventure.

Goblins, gnomes, trolls abound but Mo is lucky, he has found a best friend in Bork the snotwoggle.

‘Not everything in life is about making other people happy.’

Is it okay to be different? Can Mo find his own way of living with those who might seem like monsters to others but become friends to him?

Perhaps we should not judge on looks alone.

Just when you think all is lost, Mo finds the courage in himself to carry on.

With a super twist in the tail (!), Grumpfort would be a super book to read aloud together.

Filled with fabulous and hilarious illustrations by the author, Jamie Hammond.
