How can you be a pirate if you get seasick?
If you’re the son of the fearsome Captain Woodblock, is it possible to follow in his foosteps?
Can Wilbur Woodblack even pass his Level One pirate exam?
Two novice crew set off in search of treasure, whichever ship brings back the most valuable pirate loot will win and pass their Level One.
Wilbur must team up with the ‘desperate to be a pirate’ Ellie (aka Swashbuckler Blatherskite) alongside Gilbert Cutlaw and his mischievous lemur companion.
To Wilbur’s dismay Ellie’s so desperate to win she insists they search for the rare and powerful Sea Witch’s Hag Stone.
One catastrophe after another strikes until finally the motley crew manage to reach Bottom Island.
Not only do they have to navigate a booby trapped tunnel but how awful for poor Wilbur to know it was his mum who set the traps!
And, what will happen if they find the Witch’s Hag Stone and release the terrible pirate curse?
Can Wilbur solve the mystery of who his mum really was?
What would happen if, just for once, Wilbur was bold?
Filled with warmth and humour, the characters in this jolly pirate adventure are memorable and their companions are hilarious.
Definitely fun-filled and action packed, hold onto your candlesticks!
I loved the illustrations by Paula Jones particularly the facial expressions.
This is such an attractive and visually appealing book, it’s sure to delight and attract readers of all ages.
