This is a glorious book. Beautifully produced, written and illustrated it makes for a gorgeous advent gift or, how about popping it into one of those Christmas Eve boxes I keep reading about? This heart-warming story delivers just the right amount of Christmas cheer and festive feels.

How Winston Delivered Christmas is the story of a fabulously, brave mouse called Winston and a letter he finds hidden in the snow on Christmas Eve. The letter is from a boy called Oliver, and it’s addressed to Father Christmas. But how will it get to the North Pole on time? Winston is nothing if not determined, and so of he sets…

Alex T Smith has cleverly divided this book into 24 and a half chapters… that final half in particular is perfect for Christmas Day. In addition to the story Alex has interleaved in a nice variety of Christmassy activities from stained glass biscuits to pom pom robins.

For a sprinkling of Christmas magic, adventure and activities pop How Winston Delivered Christmas under your tree.
