June Graham

I was born and brought up in Glasgow and my family links to the Isle of Skye inspired me to learn Gaelic. While bringing up my family on Isle of Lewis, I began to write for  children in Gaelic.

In 2019, I was awarded a New Writing Award by the Gaelic Books Council and Scottish Books Trust to develop a middle-grade novel in Gaelic. The  manuscript won a Gaelic Literary Award in 2022 and in May 2024, my first children’s book, ‘An Cat Coigreach’ (‘The Foreign Feline’), was published by Bradan Press in Nova Scotia.

I am currently finishing a second novel in Gaelic for the upper middle grade lower YA age group. I blog about writing and also about Gaelic books at http://junegraham.wordpress.com
