Hugest welcome to the newest member of the MyBookCorner team… Kereen Getten.
Kereen Getten grew up in Jamaica but now lives in Birmingham with her family. She has previously written short stories for multiple publications including Notts Review and Adhoc Fiction. She was nominated for Best Short Fiction 2018 and highly commended for the FAB prize. When not writing you can find her out in nature, planning her next travel adventure, or watching Netflix.
Kereen Getten is the author of When Life Gives You Mangoes her debut novel, and Two Sisters – A Story of Freedom (Voices Series).
Emma Perry is a children’s book author, a teacher, the founder of MyBookCorner and organiser of International Book Giving Day. She loves books so much her first two books were about… books! After the publication of I Don’t Like Books and This Book Has Alpacas and Bears, she ventured outdoors with two books celebrating being outside – Puddling! illustrated by Claire Alexander, plus Know It Owl illustrated by Andrea Stegmaier.

My Book Corner consists of a team of published authors, budding authors, TV script writers, teachers, journalists and all-round book enthusiasts offering you a carefully curated list of books that we love, and more often than not, absolutely adore.
Books to make you laugh, cry, cringe and shriek. Books that fire the imagination and will ultimately shape the childhood of generations of children to come.
My Book Corner has been around since 2011 and plan to be here for many more years to come.
