The Lost Penguin: An Oliver & Patch Story

The Lost Penguin An Oliver & Patch Story

I am a huge fan of Claire Freedman – having bought Aliens Love Underpants when it first came out and being blown away by it. I was immediately drawn to this book by Kate Hindley’s beautiful illustrations on the front cover. I knew straight away that I would love The Lost Penguin – being a huge fan of penguins (I collected them as a child… not real ones I hasten to add).

The Lost Penguin as you may guess, is about a penguin who becomes lost. Oliver, Ruby and Patch (the dog) are the best of friends and they do everything together. When a little penguin becomes lost they embark on a mission to find him, and they find their friendship is put to the test.

Kate Hindley’s illustrations are so detailed, we spent ages studying them and talking about them. I love the pages where Oliver, Ruby and Patch are searching for the penguin, and as a reader you can see him hiding, but they keep missing him!

The Lost Penguin is a warm story about working together as a team. It is a perfect story to snuggle down to at bedtime with your little ones.
