Luna Loves Art by Joseph Coelho & Fiona Lumbers

Luna Loves Art follows in the footsteps of Luna Loves Library Day, and just like the first book was a true celebration of libraries and books, Luna Loves Art is a celebration too, of art this time.

We are a HUGE fan of Luna in our house! Joseph Coelho and Fiona Lumbers have created such an endearing character, and we were so pleased to not only see her in this book, but in ‘Luna Loves World Book Day’ too! I do hope there will be another title in the series after this one!

In Luna Loves Art, we join Luna on a school trip to the art gallery. She is so excited to be there – ‘the gallery is the biggest building Luna has ever seen.’ But Finn doesn’t look happy, and perhaps all he needs is a friend. Not only is this a story about art, but it is a story about feelings, and friendships, and different types of families. Fiona Lumber’s vibrant illustrations bring the art to life on every page and are a joy to behold.

This book is a fantastic introduction to famous works of art by Van Gogh, Damien Hirst, Louise Bourgeois and many more. After reading it for the first time, my daughter was so interested in the different works of art shown, that we then spent quite a while researching each one!

Luna Loves Art is a beautiful, heart-warming story that shows how art can evoke so many different emotions and bring people together.
