I’m a huge fan of Caroline Magerl’s artwork and wonderful storytelling, and have been ever since that moment I fell in love with Hasel and Rose.
Maya and Cat was no exception – a beautiful tale about a beautiful cat.
When Maya discovers a cat alone in the rain, she forges a connection – with the help of a delicious fishy treat! Maya immediately sets about trying to discover the owner of the lonely cat.
As Magerl’s wonderfully poetic language follows their journey, we sense the friendship developing between the two. The language is a real treat, warmly poetic and gentle as it guides us through Maya’s discovery of cat’s delightful home… and to a fabulous surprise.
Magerl’s gorgeous illustrations sweep us up into the world Maya and her cat as they embark on their adventure.
Maya And Cat is picture book storytelling at its best.
