Maya’s Walk by Moira Butterfield & Kim Geyer

Join Maya and her dad as they take a walk in this beautiful book by Moira Butterfield and Kim Geyer, published by Oxford University Press.

Finding colours in nature, copying animals’ movements and sounds, sniffing out flowery scents, listening to birds singing and people chatting in a busy street… a walk is so full of possibilities! Or it is when you take time to appreciate what’s around you, just like Maya and her dad do. Possibly my favourite spread is when the pair seek out ‘tiny secrets’, including a line of scurrying ants and baby plants sprouting up from the ground.

Moira Butterfield always writes about nature with such knowledge and passion, and Kim Geyer’s illustrations are stunning – every spread is full of joy and colour AND there are gorgeous endpapers to boot (always a winner).

A book which will hopefully encourage kids to get outside and hear, touch, see and smell the world around them!
