Molly the hare, Olive the owl and Dexter the fox are firm friends who live at the bottom of the garden by the oak tree.
They love to watch the sunset but the garden looks very different after dark.
What’s that noise?
What’s that touching Dexter’s tail?
What are those dark shapes – which are moving!
Thank goodness for their friendship! Molly, Olive and Dexter can help each other to solve each mystery but can they make it through the long, dark night?
For all those who begin to worry when the sun goes down, this book is perfect at providing a reassuring look at life at night. It would make a great bedtime story.
This super picture book made me think of the fabulous ‘Owl Babies’ by Martin Waddell.
Who wouldn’t fall in love with the wonderful Molly, Olive and Dexter?
The illustrations by Catherine Raynor are wonderful, so full of warmth and atmosphere.
Look out for other Molly, Olive and Dexter picture books by Catherine Rayner.
Thank you to Walker Books for the review copy.
