Shifty McGifty and Slippery Sam: The Diamond Chase

Shifty McGifty and Slippery Sam: The Diamond ChaseThe Diamond Chase is the latest in the yummy and funny, Shifty McGifty and Slippery Sam series. Delightfully illustrated by Steven Lenton with sparkles galore and the eye catching addition of Sydney Scarper, the bow tie wearing penguin thief!

Whilst Shifty and Sam are busy creating a fabulous feast for Lady Kate, her diamond tiara is stolen. As experienced detectives, the duo offer their assistance to catch the thief. After following the clues, they conclude the thief is a … penguin! But just when they think they have naughty penguin cornered, it becomes clear that it is going to be far less than easy to discover the thief— let’s just say, he’s not the only one in black and white at the grand ball!

The Diamond Chase is packed with action and surprising twists (and loads of penguins). My favourite lines have to be,

‘“You promise,” Sam nodded,

 “you’ll make a new start?”

“I promise you!” Sidney cried,

flipper on heart.”’

How could you stay angry at a penguin (even a thieving one), with his flipper on his heart!

The Diamond Chase is an amusing and redemptive detective tale. With fab new characters and an abundance of glamour and glitz, it makes a gorgeous new addition to the Shifty McGifty and Slippery Sam series.
