Simon Sock

Simon Sock‘It’s funny because it has talking socks!’ was the cry that came from my 3 year old.

Simon Sock –written by Sue Hendra and Paul Linnet, illustrated by Nick East –  has quickly become a firm favourite in our house.

Simon is a stripy and odd sock. Will he ever be part of a perfect pair? And so, the story begins with Ted helping Simon to find a stripy friend to be in a pair with. Unfortunately, Ted’s suggestions aren’t always so helpful. You might think you can guess the end of this story, but there is an unexpected funny twist at the end.

The illustrations by Nick East are fantastic. He’s really brought the characters to life, with such great expressions. There’s also a little spider on some of the pages, which has his own great personality too.

I found myself feeling sorry for my odd socks in my drawer because they never get worn! Simon Sock is sure to be a hit in any household.
