How the Sun Got to Coco’s House

How the Sun Got to Coco’s HouseHow the Sun Got to Coco’s House, by Bob Graham,
is a beautiful tale of the sun’s journey throughout the day.

The journey begins while Coco sleeps and ends with the sun barging ‘straight through Coco’s window!’. Luckily for Coco, ‘the sun had time on its hands’ and spends the whole day with her.

Bob Graham’s use of language is exquisite and the pastel colours and delicate drawings add a magical touch to this story.

I love how the sun visits all different cultures and landscapes – it journeys over deserts, mountains and forests, and crosses cities. This is a gentle story, which will provide endless opportunities for discussion with your child.

How the Sun Got to Coco’s House was highly commended for the Charlotte Zolotow Award and was endorsed by Amnesty International UK. You can see why, as it is a book which ‘reminds us that this world belongs to all of us’ and that the sun shines on everyone.
