Ten Scared Fish

Ten Scared Fish

Ten Scared Fish, a gorgeous picture book from award winning author Ros Moriarty, is just perfect for attracting the attention and delighting the eyes of the younger age group, whilst being perfect for those just getting to grips with that tricky business of counting!

The thoughtful blend of colours are bright without being garish and the concept is simple without being tedious. Page turners cleverly integrated at the right moments give this one a progressive element and ensure it is a cut above the standard counting books for toddlers.

Count the animals, beginning with “one turtle by the waterhole,” then creep closer to the water until the final fun page where ten little fish meet the scary shark!

The artwork has come straight from the Balarinji design studio, traditional elements are presented in a vibrant, cheerful manner perfect for young readers. Plus, as in Kangaroos Hop, if you fancy expanding your own linguistic abilities you can always delve in to the Yanyuwa translation on the final page.

A proportion of income from sales of Kangaroos Hop supports indigenous pre-school literacy through Indi Kindi, www.nangalaproject.org.au
