Look out for our Twitter giveaway during Friday 11th October. We have TWO copies of The Ghouls of Howlfair to giveaway.

Welcome to Howlfair, a town quite unlike any other. There’s a history and mystery to this town so big, that young Molly Thompson has spent years digging around trying to discover something juicy – much to the annoyance of some of the residents.

“You’re a meddling snoop who tries to investigate folk-tales but always ends up digging up local dirt instead.”

However, to be fair to Molly,  Howlfair is a town that prides itself on its mysterious past. Tales of ghouls and hauntings float around, it’s good for tourism. But that’s all they are, right? Tales?

Molly lives in the guest house with her mother. Her Dad died, very strangely, many years ago – they are still recovering. Then Mrs Fullsway comes for her normal stay, but something isn’t right. That look, that deathly stare she displays… Molly has seen that before. On her Dad. And the very next day? Mrs Fullsway is dead.

Molly is convinced there’s a huge mystery to uncover – it involves monsters, a dubious race for Mayor of the town and strange happenings at the old Orphanage. And that’s before we get on to the people who mysteriously drop dead… after receiving curious letters.

A super fast-paced plot, with ghostly intrigue makes The Ghouls of Howlfair a perfect book to read in the run up to Halloween… and beyond.

With a blend of mysterious spooky going-ons and humour (that opening scene with Gabriel the cat had us chuckling), Tomlinson gets the balance between ghosts and giggles just right.
