Delores and Prudence arrive back to The Tollbooth Bookstore with one eye on the shadows and the other on the deserted shop floor.
An unseen change in the atmosphere confirms their suspicions that all is not quite right when they meet unwanted guest, Magoria Jepp. An investigator of paranormal occurrences, Magoria uses her powers to try to reach into Delores’ mind, determinedly searching for a glimpse of her gifts.
To stop her gaining that knowledge, and with the help of Prudence, Gabriel and all her friends, Delores won’t rest until she beats Magoria at her own game – the investigators powers are strong so every ounce of courage is needed if Delores is to prevail.

Yvonne Banham has an ingenious knack of drawing you in to the narrative and then pulling the rug out from under your feet as you fall into step with Delores and live each moment alongside her.
