The House on Hoarder Hill by Mikki Lish & Kelly Ngai

If you’re looking for a light-hearted, adventure-filled fun little middle-grade novel, then this is definitely one to consider. Co-authored by Mikki Lish and Kelly Ngai, the story follows young brother and sister – Hedy and Spencer – as they go and stay with the Grandpa John at his big house near Christmas.

Grandpa John used to be a famous magician until his stage act went horribly wrong, somehow vanishing his wife Rose forever in a magical box. And when Hedy and Spencer arrive, they find lots of ghostly messages, talking bear rugs, suits of armour that come alive, and a very dastardly rival magician trying to ruin their grandpa’s already lonely life.

It’s an easy read this one, and you’ll get right into the mission Hedy and Spencer undertake, which is to try and find their Grandma Rose and get her back from where she was disappeared too. There is a lot of fun, and the action is very imaginative!
