The inspiration behind Dig Dig Digger by Morag Hood

,

Morag Hood is an award-winning picture book author and illustrator from Edinburgh. Her colourful and humorous books have been translated into several languages and distributed by Scottish Book Trust to thousands of pupils in Scotland. She loves playing with the relationship between text and image to create unexpected and funny results.

Words about Digger:
Dig Dig Digger was inspired by my son’s obsession with vehicles. I loved turning a digger into a little character (with a whole host of friends) and really thinking about what Digger might want. I thought it must be quite boring to always be digging down. Maybe this digger needs to go up?
