The Littlest Yak by Lu Fraser & Kate Hindley

TheLittlestYak

Clip clop your way over to this gem of a picture book, and prepare to fall in love with Gertie – the littlest yak.

The Littlest Yak, from Lu Fraser and Kate Hindley, tells the story of the wonderful Gertie, a tiny yak who can NOT wait to grow up.

Wise mum tells Gertie not to be in such a rush to grow up, a thread that unfolds into a lovely, touching moment at the end. You’ve been warned, gulp, it’s lovely.

An emergency situation leads to Gertie being able to use her smallness to save the day, discovering that being ‘Gertie’ is pretty good afterall.

The most heartwarming ending stays with you long after you close the find pages. Loved it! Gorgeous clip-clopping rhyme from Lu Fraser maintains a lovely pace throughout as Gertie’s journey of self discovery unfolds. This is a beautifully written story. And. What an absolutely gorgeous colour palette from Kate Hindley with wonderful, humorous touches.

Prepare to fall in love with Gertie, a little yak with a big personality!
