Two Fabulous Picture Books!

Grow by Jess McGeachin

From slow growing ferns to the things that often go unnoticed, like lichen and moss, and those which are most at risk, reading this amazing book is like travelling around the world from the comfort of your own chair. However, once you’ve read it, you’ll be desperate to go out and discover more about this magical world of ours for yourself.

This is such a clever book with a gentle story and a serious amount of information presented in a very accessible and interesting manner.

Each page is a delight. The detail and absorbing illustrations with their soft colour palette ensure this is a book I would encourage every reader to take their time to enjoy.

What a very reassuring and calming book.

My Body is my Home by Jasper Peach, Illustrated by Beci Orpin

Learn all about what your body can do, from inside out in a fun and engaging manner with easy to read rhyme and bright, bold colours.

By using non-figurative illustrations, the book is able to promote difference and inclusivity in a positive and joyous manner.

The simple repetition of the ‘My Body is my Home’ title is reassuring and a great mantra to take away.

This is a book to return to time after time and it is sure to bring comfort and cheer.

A brilliant way to encourage young readers to value their body and mind and a perfect introduction to what our bodies can do, this picture book packs a (very gentle) punch.

This book would be perfect for pre-school and nurseries to promote discussion.
