You Can’t Let An Elephant Drive A Digger

cantletelephantdriveadiggerThey’ve done it again!

Patricia Cleveland-Peck and David Tazzyman‘s You Can’t Let An Elephant Drive A Digger is laugh out loud funny. With rollicking rhymes featuring all kinds of bizarre situations, this one had little listeners giggling. Lots.

With fautless rhyme and rhythm – because there should be no other kind in picture books – the duo take us through plenty of scenarios, which, we are urged to avoid. The humour not only comes from the humourous statement…

“Never let a seal prepare you a meal”

but the following stanza which explains exactly why… urm.. you shouldn’t let a wolf read you a bedtime story, or share a bunk with a skunk or even go to the loo with a kangaroo. Just in case you are in any doubt, and feel tempted.

Tazzyman’s illustrations bring the predications to life, with the hilarious consequences played out on each double spread. Lively, zany and completely enjoyable.

You Can’t Let An Elephant Drive A Digger was a huge hit, great to use for exploring rhyming, animals and came with free bundles of giggles.
