The Worry Bee by Nicola Kinnear

All the bees from the hive have flown off to find the  flower field.

All except one.

Izzy is too worried. What if she can’t fly? Perhaps it would be much safer to walk.

And so that is what she does and along the way she sees so many interesting things that she might miss if she was flying.

Surely she can walk all the way to the field, she thinks, until, she finally spies it in the distance. Across a river.

As Izzy ponders what to do, a tiny bird lands beside her and it can’t fly either.

Can Izzy help the baby bird and in doing so help herself?

Nicola Kinnear’s fabulous illustrations fill this story with warmth and humour. Each page is a delight.

Right from the very beginning we can see how worried Izzy is about flying and I felt myself immediately rooting for her!

This is a superb story of how, by being kind to others, we actually help ourselves.

Thank you to Scholastic for the review copy.
